The design process commenced with drafting a smooth movement pattern throughout the layout. The juxtaposition of rectilinear volumes in a perpendicular orientation on the building facia developed into an engaging design. In order to create a visual balance laminam tiles coupled with textured paint are used on the elevation. Exterior and boundary walls cladded with travertine stone accentuates the warmth of its natural texture. The east facing façade administered natural light via huge fenestrations, while minimizing heat gain.
On moving inside from foyer, a double height drawing room – adorned with a sculptural staircase – emphasises the grandeur of the entire space. Moving further semi-private spaces opens up into first – tree shaded – courtyard. Likewise, second courtyard caters the private spaces. Adorned with sleek modern furniture and artefacts, the space exudes elegance. Altogether, the design is a unique amalgamation of the client’s requirements infused with modern functionality and a subtle hint of timelessness.
